Reading the wall before touching it

This house had luxury vinyl plank floors, and people stayed in it. Water had reached the dining room, a bedroom, the bath and the hall. Furniture stayed where it was. Equipment went in around it.

We started with the thermal camera on the bedroom wall, because it shows where a wall is cooler and wetter than it looks. Then we put a pinless meter on the baseboard, which read 13.2. Looking first and measuring second means we only open and dry what the water actually reached.

With people living in a house, the equipment at the door, the air movers in each room and the dehumidifier in the hall all have to share the space.
