Loss

Failed underground/cast-iron fitting. Water into a commercial corridor and adjacent tenant space. Occupied building.

What we found

  • The fitting in the ground had a hole in it. That’s what put water in the building.
  • Corridor base was wet. Drywall came off at the water line so the cavity could dry and get new insulation.
  • Tenants stayed. Contents in the showroom got covered. Work ran in the hall.
  • Rebuild was the wet band: insulation, rock, paint, then wainscot. Not a full-height demo for a base leak.
