Loss

Failed hardwood in a commercial hall. Cupped, lifting. Floor came off so the slab could be seen.

What we found

• Hardwood was cupping and coming loose. That is moisture in the floor, not a coat of finish.
• Ride-on scraper, not a hand bar. Commercial hall. The machine pulls what failed.
• Boards came off in shards. Cupped, delaminated. Piles on the slab, then the wheelbarrow.

   Cup

   The boards lifted. Cupping means the floor took water.

   Pull

   Ride-on scraper. The finish floor comes off so we can see the slab.

   

3. 03

   Off

   Shards on the slab. Wheelbarrow and cans. The wood is gone. The next reading is the slab.

   

What we did

Ride-on floor scraper. Wheelbarrow and dump cans.

Result

Failed wood off the slab. What goes back is written from the slab and the moisture map — not from sanding a cup.
